Jensen Arabians Breeding Philosophy
Having spent many years studying Arabian horse history and bloodlines, Gail and Abby Jensen continue to refine their breeding stock. Heavy on Polish bloodlines, Jensen Arabians has a small but impressive band of purebred broodmares. Leading the broodmare band is the champion English Pleasure mare, Ultra Afire, by the legendary Afire Bey V and out of the impressive champion Park mare, EW Ultima. They also have Ultra's full sister, Angel Afire; as well as the Cease Fire daughter, NR_Bayonett, out of Miss Taska by Serinask. Alykadabra MTA, an Ms Baquero daughter out of Afire Bey V's full sister, Alyaska Bey V, a champion in her own right, is producing stunning foals. Joining the broodmare band next year will be the Jensen-bred mare JSN Abbey Road, a Country English Pleasure mare by Alimah Justice out of Angel Afire. The Jensens have been crossing their impeccably bred mares with some of the finest performance stallions in the U.S. today: IXL Noble Express, Baske Afire, Vegaz, Afires Heir, Aploz, Apaladin, Mamage, El Ghazi, and Majesteit to name a few. Searching for the golden cross, the Jensens hope to produce a colt worthy of standing for Jensen Arabians. The Saddlebred broodmares of Jensen Arabians include mares carrying bloodlines rich in the lines of Supreme Sultan, Sultans Santana, Talent Town, and Caramac.
Needless to say, the Jensens continue to breed all their mares with the care and critical eye necessary to breed the very best English horses in the country. Their breeding goal is to have every breeding horse on the farm conform to three important elements: the Pedigree to be a great performance horse; the Physical conformation to perform the job they were bred to do; and the show ring record as conformation of their performance abilities.
With Abby's love of reining, and her expertise and success in Reining and Working Cow Horse, the Jensens are breeding a select few reining mares with the same care, consideration, and critical analysis as their English horses.
"AJ", celebrating his 25th birthday in 2010, is still breeding a very limited number of mares each year. He continues to pass on his coveted characteristics - beauty, correct sound legs, his pleasant personality, and willing attitude. AJ has done a fantastic job getting the Jensen Arabian Breeding program off the ground. Acquiring his own impressive show record long before the Jensens purchased him from Robert and Ardith Sporleder, Alimah Justice has produced offspring that have garnered Regional and National wins in Park, English Pleasure, Country English Pleasure, Show Hack, Native Costume, Saddle Seat Equitation, and Western Pleasure. The Jensen family looks forward to the celebration of AJ's 25th birthday next year by hosting a party for his fans and friends. |
